All training at Black Beard K9 takes place at our training facility in Rochester, NY.

Every program is designed to be consistent, structured, and distraction-controlled so learning can happen clearly for both the dog and the handler.

All programs are four weeks long and run Tuesday through Friday, beginning the first full week of every month.

What’s Included With Every Program

4-Week Training Programs at Our Facility

All training is offered through Private Coaching at the Black Beard K9 facility.

Each program runs for four weeks with structured sessions Tuesday through Friday. This format allows us to build consistency, adjust plans as needed, and ensure learning is happening on both ends of the leash.

Program Investment: $2,950 plus sales tax
All programs are the same price, regardless of training focus

  • Includes AKC Star Puppy Certification


    This four-week program focuses on building strong foundations early. We work on engagement, structure, leash skills, and communication that carries into everyday life.

    Puppy training sets the tone for the relationship moving forward.

  • Includes AKC Canine Good Citizen Certification


    Beginner Obedience is a four-week program designed to create clarity and consistency. We focus on leash manners, engagement, impulse control, and obedience that works outside of the training space.

    Handlers leave knowing how to maintain progress at home.

  • Includes AKC CGC Community and Urban Certifications


    This four-week program sharpens reliability around distractions and in more challenging environments. We focus on control, teamwork, and handler confidence.

  • Includes AKC CGC Certification


    Behavioral Modification is a four-week program that looks at the full picture. We identify what’s driving the behavior and build a plan that makes sense for the dog and the household.

    Education remains a central part of the process.

  • Includes AKC CGC Certification


    This four-week program is built to create calm, structured walks. We focus on leash handling, communication, and movement so walks stop feeling stressful.

  • Includes Access to Training Club


    This four-week program introduces sport-style training concepts that build focus, engagement, and motivation. Even for non-competition teams, these skills translate to better everyday communication.

    Clients in this program receive access to the Black Beard K9 Training Club.

  • Multiple-dog homes are welcome. Each additional dog must have a dedicated handler present during sessions.

    Additional dogs are discounted to $500 per dog, up to three dogs total. This reflects nearly a $2,500 savings per additional dog.

  • Have a group of friends looking to train together? Private Coaching Groups run for four weeks at the Black Beard K9 facility.

    Groups can include up to four dogs, with pricing discounted as more teams join.

    Group Pricing

    • 2 dogs: $2,250 per dog

    • 3 dogs: $2,000 per dog

    • 4 dogs: $1,750 per dog

  • Snake avoidance training is designed to teach dogs to disengage and move away from snakes, adding an extra layer of safety for dogs who hike or spend time in natural environments. This can be added to most lesson packages.

Weekend Adventures

Weekend Adventures are optional add-ons for clients who have completed a Black Beard K9 program.

Options include:

  • Urban pack walks

  • Group hikes

  • Group swims

Dogs must complete training and receive trainer approval before attending.

All equipment is selected to support clear communication and safety.

  • E-collar bundle: $220
     ET-300 with bungee and metal quick clip

  • Herm Sprenger prong collar with clip: $55
     Same price regardless of size

  • BBK9 slip lead: $30

  • BBK9 dominant dog collar: $25

  • Premium clicker: $10
