About Black Beard K9

Clear Training.

Real Understanding.

Why We Train This Way

Lasting change does not come from fixing a dog in isolation.

Our training puts the handler at the center of the process. When you understand how to communicate clearly and consistently, progress becomes repeatable instead of temporary.

The goal is not dependency. The goal is confidence and independence on both ends of the leash.

Black Beard K9 exists to make dog training make sense.

We work with dog owners who want clarity, structure, and results they can actually maintain. Our focus is not just on what your dog does, but on helping you understand why it works and how to continue it long after training ends.

Meet the Trainer

I’m Frank, the owner and trainer behind Black Beard K9.

Before I was a dog trainer, I was a chef. Different industries, same mindset. Precision matters. Timing matters. You don’t skip the fundamentals and expect consistent results.

My background in the working and competition dog world further shaped how I approach training. That environment demands clarity, accountability, and structure, and those principles are at the core of every program I run.

Not every dog is meant for sport, but every dog benefits from purposeful movement, engagement, and clear communication. My goal is to take proven concepts and apply them in a way that works for everyday dogs and the people living with them.

I’m direct, honest, and deeply invested in my clients’ success. Most people aren’t struggling because they don’t care. They’re struggling because no one ever explained things clearly. That’s why education isn’t optional in my programs. It’s the foundation.

At the end of four weeks, I want you to feel confident handling your dog without second-guessing yourself or relying on constant help.

What to Expect

Check out our Services

We use a positive-first balanced approach that adapts to the dog and the household in front of us.

No two dogs are trained the same way. No two homes operate the same way. Training plans are built, adjusted, and refined throughout the program to ensure learning is happening at the right pace.

Education is a priority in every session.

Our Training Philosophy

Our background in working and competition dogs shapes how we train.

The structure, engagement, and clarity used in that world translate directly to calmer behavior and better communication in everyday life. We apply those principles in a way that’s practical and accessible for pet dogs and their owners.
